Background

At the inauguration of Malaysia’s chairmanship, during the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Asean-BAC meeting with its Joint Business Councils, the co-convenors of the ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance (ACEBA) - Thomas Thomas, Gil Gonzales, and Rene van Berkel attended the event.

Supported by the EU SWITCH-Asia Programme, ACEBA has developed 80 business cases showing how ASEAN businesses are adopting circular economy solutions, achieving cost savings, new business opportunities, and greater resilience.

The co-convenors highlighted the growing momentum for circular economy practices and welcomed interest in strengthening partnerships to advance the 2021 ASEAN Circular Economy Framework.
